Talve Kuningas Rula contest

Ralf Rasmus Words and photos by Nicolas Bouvy Last Saturday “Talve Kuningas” contest was on. Organised by Sisu, Nightwood Skateboards and Pääsküla Noortekeskus. We promised a good dose of adrenaline, awakening some muscles and promises were kept. The riders pushed themselves over their limits! Two categories were held on the course of Pääsküla Noortemaja Skatepark, under 18 years old and the 18+. Sadly we did not have the girls/women contestants showing up. For the young guns category, a crew came from Tartu, and even a Narva-Jõesuu representative, Villiam Müller, came to compete against the capital’s locals. And it was a tight competition. Our favourite riders are gonna be there, they also have the women’s category and it’s so sick, as they always had in last years. The masters and veterans which I cannot wait to see!!! The contestants flying to the roof trying to reach Jocke Airlines! At the best skate-school on earth, the Bryggeriet, in Malmö, one school Alice would wish not to be “Out for the summer” ever!!! Cannot wait to hear again Stan Pontus and Sean Goff behind the mic and the crazy Danes in the crowd!! Damn, just pure happiness!!...

Krulli Park was really packed with kids and Estonian veterans. The guys definitely nailed it with a greatly successful event. Jeremy Daclin, a french legend and curb shredder who owns the Film trucks company, provided some real cool trucks and Bonjour wheels for...

It's Täheaeg !! A Portrait of Lauri Täht

Lauri Täht by Nicolas Bouvy   Today let’s go back a little, just a little back in time… A time where we were smarter than our damn cell phone. T’was not the phone the smartest thing on earth. When our fingers weren’t glued to the weird, rectangular, little glass screen. When a skate-photo appeared from the surface of a film roll coated by a thin silver layer instead of instant frame on the latest device from the market. When music was listened from a plastic disk coated by aluminium, or even worse, from magnetic tape rolls. The Tallinn skate community was in big boom. Shit started to move. Haigla park was the place to go. Now we are lucky little...
